Community Guidelines
Last updated: April 27, 2026
TickerTrust is a community of investors and traders sharing analysis, ideas, and watchlists. These guidelines apply to all user-generated content on the platform — community posts, comments, trade ideas, shared watchlists, and profile information.
By participating in the community you agree to follow these rules. Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent ban.
What's allowed
- Substantive analysis, theses, and trade ideas about publicly traded securities
- Constructive discussion and disagreement, even strongly held
- Sharing of watchlists, screening strategies, and educational content
- Asking questions about markets, instruments, or platform features
- Self-promotion of your own published research, blog, or substack — sparingly, and only when relevant
What's not allowed
The following content will be removed and the posting account may be suspended:
1. Harassment, hate speech, and threats
- Targeted harassment, bullying, or doxxing of any user
- Hate speech or slurs based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin

2. Spam and manipulation
- Repetitive posting of the same content or links
- Pump-and-dump schemes, coordinated promotion, or paid shilling
- Posts designed primarily to drive traffic to off-platform paid services
- Engagement manipulation (vote-buying, sock-puppet accounts, fake comments)
3. Fraud, scams, and deceptive content
- Investment scams, fake guaranteed-return claims, or fraudulent schemes
- Phishing, malicious links, or solicitation of personal/financial info
- Misrepresentation of yourself, credentials, or affiliations
- Deceptive trading signals or paid "tips" presented as community content
4. Illegal content and activity
- Content that violates U.S. or applicable local law
- Insider trading, market manipulation, or coordination of illegal trading activity
- Solicitation of illegal goods or services
- Child sexual abuse material — reported immediately to NCMEC
5. Sexual, violent, or otherwise inappropriate content
- Sexually explicit content, nudity, or sexually suggestive material
- Real-world graphic violence, gore, or content depicting suffering
- Content promoting self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders
6. Impersonation and identity abuse
- Impersonating other users, public figures, brokers, regulators, or TickerTrust staff
- Posing as a registered investment advisor or broker if you are not one
- Falsely claiming an official endorsement or affiliation
7. Privacy violations
- Sharing other people's personal info (address, phone, financial accounts) without consent
- Posting private communications without permission
- Doxxing or attempts to identify pseudonymous users
How to report violations
You can report content directly from the app:
- On any post, comment, trade idea, or profile, tap the three-dot menu (...).
- Select Report.
- Choose a reason and (optionally) add details.
- Submit. We'll review and take action within 24 hours.
For urgent issues — including illegal content, threats of imminent harm, or child safety concerns — email abuse@tickertrust.com directly.
Blocking other users
If you don't want to see content from a specific user, you can block them. Tap the three-dot menu on any of their content or on their profile, then select Block author. Their posts, comments, and ideas will be hidden from your feeds, and any mutual follows will be removed. You can manage blocked users at Settings → Profile → Blocked Users.
How we enforce these rules
- Automated moderation: All posts and comments pass through automated content classifiers before publication. Content flagged with high confidence is rejected at submission.
- User reports: Reports go into a moderation queue reviewed by our team within 24 hours.
- Auto-hide threshold: Content that receives 3 or more pending reports is automatically hidden from public view pending human review.
- Actions: Reviewers can keep, remove, or dismiss reports. Removed content is soft-deleted; the author is notified by email.
- Repeat offenders: Accounts with multiple confirmed violations may be temporarily suspended or permanently banned.
Investment disclaimer (important)
Posts, ideas, and comments on TickerTrust are not investment advice. They reflect the personal opinions of community members, who may or may not own positions in the securities discussed. TickerTrust does not endorse, verify, or guarantee any community content. Always do your own research and consult a licensed financial advisor before making investment decisions.
Appeals
If your content was removed and you believe the decision was wrong, email appeals@tickertrust.com with the content ID and a brief explanation. We'll review the appeal within 7 days.
Changes to these guidelines
We may update these guidelines as the community grows or as new types of abuse emerge. Material changes will be announced in-app and the "Last updated" date above will reflect the change.
